Press Release for Great Books Week

Great Books Week 2012 honors Les Misérables by Victor Hugo
(ASHLAND, VA) – It’s almost Great Books Week, a time to celebrate the beauty of great literature. Readers worldwide are invited to celebrate this annual holiday October 7-13, 2012.

“This year we’re celebrating the 150th anniversary of the publication of Les Misérables,” says Janice Campbell, author of the Excellence in Literature curriculum. “We invite everyone to the Great Books Week blog to see how you can join us in celebrating Jean Valjean, Cosette, Gavroche, Eponine, and Marius. And of course, you’re always welcome to boo the relentless Javert!”

Excellence in Literature, along with partner sponsor and website host, the National Association of Independent Writers and Editors (NAIWE), is again celebrating Great Books Weeks by offering a free downloadable poster, links to Victor Hugo resources, and a number of suggested activities at the GreatBooksWeek.com website.
